Vancouver, B.C. The International Centre of Art for Social Change (ICASC), a partnership between Judith Marcuse Projects and Simon Fraser University, is pleased to announce the launch of a new 30-minute video, So What Is Art For Social Change?, with a free public showing at Simon Fraser University, Harbour Centre Campus, on Thursday, April 15th, at 6 P.M.

ICASC and SFU's Centre for Dialogue host an informal dialogue with award-winning choreographer, performer, writer, educator and speaker Liz Lerman. Facilitated by Judith Marcuse, this public dialogue is open to everyone interested in the field of art in community and social change, and the ways in which these practices enrich and inform every sector of our society. Ms. Lerman will also preview excerpts from her new book.

ICASC hosts Arlene Goldbard, one of the world’s leading writers in the field of art in community and art for social change. A provocative independent voice for our times, Arlene Goldbard is a writer, social activist, and consultant who works for justice, compassion and honor in every sphere, from the interpersonal to the transnational. Ms. Goldbard will deliver a short presentation and engage in dialogue with her audience.

Explore the role of art in creating social change in conversation with artists and professionals in the emerging field of art and social change together with other business, education, health, and community leaders. Join this informal conversation with artists, professionals, and social entrepreneurs over refreshments with host Judith Marcuse. The International Centre of Art for Social Change (ICASC) is a partnership between Judith Marcuse Projects and Simon Fraser University. ICASC will become a communications and learning centre to facilitate connections, relationships, and collaboration.
