September 20: Entrepreneurship@UBC Kickoff Event!
 
Have you ever considered becoming an entrepreneur? Would you like to learn what it means to be an entrepreneur? Would you like to get involved with entrepreneurial activties on campus? If you’re looking for the answer to any of these questions, attend Entrerpreneurship@UBC’s first event of the school year – Want to be an Entrepreneur?
 
You’ll have the chance to listen to and interact with some of the top UBC Alumni entrepreneurs who are currently working on their startups both locally and internationally. You will also be able to meet the E@UBC staff and student/alumni board members to learn about entrepreneurship opportunities on campus. After the event, you can meet the speakers and other attendees as well as members from entrepreneurship related clubs on campus. See below for a list of speakers and their bios.
 
We will also be featuring entrepreneurship related clubs and opportunities. Reps from these groups will be in attendance as well. This includes: E@UBC incubator, E-Projects, Enterprize, the Next 36, and more! If you have an opportunity you’d like to share, send an email to info@entrepreneurship.ubc.ca.

September 27: Entrepreneurship@UBC Social Meetup
 
Come meet the e@UBC team, the companies currently working in the shared work space, and fellow entrepreneurs from around campus at this social meetup event. Refreshments will be available, and the event should be a great opportunity to make connections to the entrepreneurship community on campus.
 
Co-Hosted with the UBC Entrepreneurship Society.

September 21 -23: Lean Startup Machine Workshop
 
Lean Startup Machine is an intensive workshop where entrepreneurs put Lean methodologies to work in the real world. To date, they have run 35 workshops in 20 separate cities across 5 continents. In September, Lean Startup Machine will be coming to Vancouver for the first time!

September 21: SDTC Statement of Interest Workshop
 
A number of UBC companies have benefited from SDTC funding. Find out how to submit a succsessful statement of interest to the CD Tech Fund  at the September 21 seminar in Vancouver:
 
The Statement of Interest (SOI) Workshops will provide prospective applicants with key information and practical guidance to prepare a quality SOI submission.
 
The Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC) has partnered with Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) for the Vancouver Statements of Interest Workshop being held on September 21st, 2012 at the SFU Harbour Centre.
 
In concert with this upcoming funding round, SDTC is planning to conduct in-person workshops. The workshop is aimed at providing prospective applicants with key information and practical guidance to prepare a quality Statement of Interest submissions.
 
This session will allow applicants to assess the potential fit of their technology with SDTC’s SD Tech Fund, and to gain an understanding of the application process and key evaluation criteria.
