Web of Change has returned! They're hosting a special event in Vancouver to kick off this year’s schedule.

Newbies to web technology and the non-profit world are invited to join our past WOC alumni at Designing for Democracy — a limited engagement event starring one of North America’s leaders in technology, arts and social activism, Favianna Rodriguez.

Combining artistic skill with cutting edge web tools, Favianna has led campaigns on such diverse issues as war, immigration, and globalization. She is the President of TUMIS, a flagship of innovative web design that has participated in hundreds of progressive projects that challenge racism, classism, homophobia, sexism, and corporate irresponsibility.

Designing for Democracy will kick off the 2009 Web of Change calendar on Thursday, March 5th at Vancouver’s District 319. Ticket price is $20 ($15 for students/non-profits) and space is limited! Advanced registration is encouraged.

Visit the event page to purchase tickets, and learn more about Favianna’s art and work at www.favianna.com.
