Concerned about the future of the Canadian economy? Unclear about what exactly defines a  job as "green"? Wondering how the United States' policy on green jobs will affect policies in Canada?
As the global climate change talks in Copenhagen fast approach, there seems to be a growing consensus that the environment and the economy can no longer be mutually exclusive. Indeed, in many countries around the world, the environment is now being touted as a way out of economic trouble. The creation of green jobs - jobs that "can't be exported," in the words of President Obama - has become a priority for many countries, including Canada.
But in order to create "green" jobs, it is important to know exactly what they are, what sectors of the economy will be affected, and what role governments can play to be responsive.  Join the Public Policy Forum on November 2 and 3 as we discuss these and other challenges associated with the transition towards a greener economy.
