What Is Power Plant?

It's a green gathering for a dynamic crowd of sustainable business leaders, social entrepreneurs, eco-adventurers, green artists and media activists. 

Power Plant is an innovative and casual approach to networking with the aim of celebrating success, sharing ideas and knowledge, creating strategic partnerships and gathering to promote growth of the Vancouver green economy.  Think mini TED talks or Pecha Kucha style presentations and purposeful connections whil

What is 1% for the Planet?

1% for the Planet is a network of businesses that advocate global environmental well-being by annually investing 1% of their sales in sustainability-oriented nonprofits. Learn more at www.onepercentfortheplanet.org.

The event features quick presentations from several green community leaders, all of whom are 1% for the Planet members or the organizations they support. Speakers have exactly 10 slides displayed for 20 seconds each to deliver their compelling story (that's 3 minutes and 20 seconds!). This could be anything from sharing about their company and acknowledging achievements to launching a new program and raising interest for partnerships. Power Plant Connectors help introduce guests and make purposeful connections (no wallflowers here!).  (Read about Power Plant IX in Vancouver Is Awesome.)
