SelfCare for Social Change: Wellness workshop with Viola Fodor

The challenge of social change work
Working for environmental sustainability, advocating for social justice and building strong, vibrant communities can be as difficult as it is rewarding. As you take on the challenge of meeting the demands of your personal and professional life, your own needs can get lost in the shuffle.

At times, life may seem to ask of you more than you can give and you can suffer the consequences—a sense of ineffectiveness, feeling like you’re running on empty, stress, depression, complacency, or burnout.

Caring for ourselves in times of change
In this workshop you will learn more about the basics of true self‐care:

  • How you can find the time in your life to nurture your self—body, mind and spirit
  • A way to use unhealthy patterns or crises as opportunities to change and grow
  • Powerful, yet gentle ways to access your inner resources

Emphasis will be on honest self‐examination, quieting the mind, and nurturing the inner self.

Saturday, January 14, 2012 - 9:00 to 4:00
Centre for Social Innovation, 720 Bathurst Street, Toronto, ON
Fee is $65.00 + HST $35.00 student rate (includes morning coffee and muffins)
