The living wage is about pay, but it is also about non-wage benefits and the value of social supports & programs.

Join Tides Canada to hear Seth Klein, BC Director of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) explain the just released 2010 Living Wage for Families -- the principles that guide it, how the calculation is done, the various ways employers can attain and support the living wage, and why this is such a powerful tool for eliminating child poverty in our society.

CCPA is one of Canada’s strongest progressive voices in public policy debates and a Tides Top 10 organization for 2008.  Seth's research deals primarily with welfare policy, poverty, inequality and economic security. He is a founding board member with the Vancouver-based Centre for Native Policy and Research. He is also co-chair of the B.C. Poverty Reduction Coalition, an advisory board member for the Columbia Institute’s Centre for Civic Governance, and an advisor and instructor for Next Up, a leadership program for young people committed to social and environmental justice.
