Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit Fair Trade Organization (FTO), designed to benefit artisans, not to maximize profits. Ten Thousand Villages market products from handicraft and agricultural organizations based in low-income countries, providing consumers with products that have been fairly purchased from sustainable sources.

Many of you are familiar with a not-for-profit fair-trade organization called Ten Thousand Villages (TTV), through their retail outlets all over BC.  TTV has been around for over 60 years, but in the last 15 it has grown into quite a large and complex operation (50 stores across Canada - $18m in sales annually - a supply chain that reaches out to thousands of artisans in  hundreds of co-operatives in dozens of 3rd world countries.

TTV has been actively searching for a new CEO for more than a year.  They are searching for someone who's looking for a challenge, has a compatible world-view, and has the skills to run an organization of this type.
