Please read on for a letter from Tom Heintzman regarding Bullfrog Power's CEO position. 

 Dear Bullfrog Power Friends,

Looking back on the last 8 years, I can’t believe how far the Bullfrog Power community has come.  With your support, we have grown from just an idea to the point where we can now provide Canadians coast to coast with a renewable electricity and a renewable natural gas choice.  In doing so, we give Canadians a practical way to reduce their own environmental impact and change Canada’s energy systems. 

The response from Canadians to a clean energy choice has been tremendous, with thousands of homes and businesses choosing a renewable energy future. This support allows Bullfrog to make a real difference – there are many new turbines standing because of Bullfrog, we educate millions of Canadians a year through our grassroots outreach and events, and consumer products from Burnbrae eggs to Dad’s cookies, from Hellmann’s mayonnaise to Ben & Jerry’s ice cream are bullfrogpowered. You can even buy a Bullfrog Power edition of GM’s Chevy Volt!

After a great deal of reflection, I’ve decided that now is the right time to pass the reins to the next CEO. Bullfrog Power is in a great place. We continue to grow, we have a sound financial footing, and we are excited about embarking on a new three year strategic plan which will increase our impact significantly in coming years. After 8 years, it also feels like the right time for change in my life. To that end, Bullfrog is beginning a CEO search.

I won’t be leaving Bullfrog – I’ll be staying on as a Director, and helping to find the next CEO and transitioning that person in. And of course I will continue as a customer (and a Facebook fan!).

It has really been a special honour to have been leading Bullfrog all these years. You can’t believe how exciting it has been to be able to offer Canadians a true, green energy option, and even more exciting to have received such an enthusiastic response. 

The movement to cleaner energy is extremely important for us, our kids and our grandkids. And as the public debate about energy futures grows in intensity, it has never been as important as right now for leaders like you to demonstrate that they are willing to pay the premium for clean, renewable energy. I thank you for your support.
