Director of Content at CharityVillage.com
Position Summary:
Are you a seasoned leader with exceptional experience in developing awesome teams and bringing new content and training programs to life? Are you a tapped-in connector who is always on the lookout for new nonprofit trends and who thrives on helping others change the world?
We're on the hunt for a director of content to spearhead our training, editorial and online community initiatives. A member of our leadership team, your mission will be to ensure that CharityVillage.com is the Canadian leader in providing timely and practical information, resources, training and community/networking opportunities to Canada's changemakers.
To deliver exceptional experiences for our users every day, you'll develop and manage a small internal team of key players and a dedicated network of external contributors and subject experts.
Overseeing our training manager, you'll spearhead the development of new educational offerings for CharityVillage Campus, ensuring that they align with sector needs and our focus areas. You'll also manage an editor and community manager to make sure that we're surfacing and delivering the absolute best content and discussions to help Canada's changemakers become more effective in their roles.
You'll forge content partnerships with individuals and organizations, and help us develop a vibrant and interactive online space where users learn, share, and feel connected to the nonprofit and changemaking community.
This is an independent contractor role, working from your own home office in either Vancouver or Toronto and using your own equipment. Compensation is $80,000-$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Success Characteristics:
- Demonstrated success at building and managing happy teams that
perform exceptionally well. - Demonstrated success at expanding existing programs as well as
bringing new ones to life. - Relentless commitment to client delight and user-centred program
development. - Relationship-builder par excellence with established ties to
Canada's changemakers and nonprofit leaders. - Unparalleled follow-through on commitments and unflappable
navigation around obstacles along the way. - Curiosity in abundance and unparalleled wisdom at mining the gems
and ignoring the shiny baubles. - Dazzling ability to put first things first while also moving the
whole project list along. - A friendly and focused communicator, equally at home in the
Twitterverse, trade shows, one-on-ones or keynotes.
