Criterion Ventures (Criterion) incubates and scales ventures that create a better world, either for clients or by taking an equity position in its own ventures. Dramatic growth in the social change space, evidenced by the emergence of countless new non profits, hybrid models and alliances created in the last five years, has created incredible opportunities for forming and building new entities. A leader and innovator in the social change space, Criterion works with individuals and organizations with a bold vision for what is possible for the world and partners with them to translate that vision into sustainable ventures.

With a full time staff of 10, and an impressive network of 9,000 people developed through years of conversations and convenings, Criterion is enabling social change by weaving together sophisticated strategy, vast networks and thoughtful partnerships. The Director of Human Resources (DHR) will assume a leadership role in assessing, updating and implementing policies and procedures, and will oversee the hiring of a broad range of new staff members to support Criterion's rapid growth and expansion.

Criterion is currently in a critical inflection point in its expansion. The Director of Human Resources will be specifically charged with ensuring that Criterion's procedures are formalized and developed to keep pace with the company's growth.

As importantly, the DHR will also oversee the development of a growth strategy for Criterion's aggressive hiring targets. To this end, the DHR will develop and drive processes for hiring new members of the team. S/he will vet large numbers of candidates for several positions at once and work to put candidates at ease while determining their fit within the company. With the skills to work on several projects simultaneously while ensuring that details are paid attention to, the DHR will have the gravitas to work on behalf of senior management with external candidates, partners and clients.

Differentiating Criterion is its strong commitment to its core values. As such, the DHR will be charged with ensuring that the commitment to these values is woven throughout both the development of a growth strategy and the entirety of the hiring processes. With a strong commitment to social change, the ideal candidate will be humble, self aware, thoughtful and skilled at working collaboratively with individuals and with teams. S/he will be flexible, adaptable and able to incorporate feedback into projects as they are underway. The DHR will be able to interact with constituents with dignity, respect and consideration and will be in a unique position to influence and enable Criterion's growth during a very critical stage of development. With strong leadership skills and a can-do attitude, the DHR can help to shape the growth of Criterion Ventures helping to make it the social change company to work for.
