Job Description
Reporting to the VP Marketing & Business Development, the Manager, Marketing has primary accountability for the creation and execution of both business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing plans and strategies. The Manager is engaged in building a brand using forward thinking and sustainable marketing practices that drive market share and revenue growth.
Among your responsibilities will be: co-development of the annual marketing plan with the VP Marketing & Business Development, including consumer promotions, trade promotions, public relations and digital media strategies designed to build brand awareness and increase trial and usage. In addition to consumer research and new product development, you will plan and administer the company's marketing budget and implement standards and practices to ensure a consistent brand and communication strategy throughout the organization.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supports the continuous evolution of the Offsetters brand and ensure that all marketing initiatives reflect the brand, Offsetters values and a consistent customer experience, building brand equity and value creation.
- Co-develops and executes the annual marketing plan and budget and then reports and revises on plan and budget on a monthly basis.
- Develops, executes and measures the results of innovative marketing communications initiatives including paid media, social media, earned media, digital, and cooperative marketing campaigns.
- Publishes a public relations and marketing calendar of major events and opportunities to promote our product.
- Manages product marketing and supports new product development through idea generation, research and business case development. Develops take to market strategies.
- Prepares and proposes strategic pricing rationale with the associated price position compared to competition for input and approval by the senior leadership team.
- Creates or collaborates with vendors on marketing press releases, collateral, presentations, newsletters, customer success stories, online content, social media efforts, events, sponsorships and other materials that clearly support the agreed-upon market objectives.
- Develops and manages internal marketing initiatives.
- Works closely with Manager, Partner Relations and partner companies, to develop and execute upon co-operative marketing campaigns.
- Leads market and customer research initiatives to determine emerging needs and trends with both existing customer set as well as carbon management sector.
- Conducts competitive analysis, monitors relevant publications and reports out on key trends and gaps in the marketplace.
- Supports the VP in managing vendor relationships with branding, marketing, and PR agencies and/or freelance consultants.
- Supports VP Marketing and Business Development in other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree in Marketing, Commerce or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5 years experience in B2B marketing role, with responsibility for communication initiatives.
- Understanding of environmental sciences an asset.
- Track record of success developing, managing and measuring integrated campaigns of all disciplines and channels.
- Product management experience, including product development, pricing and forecasting.
- Thrives in dynamic, high growth, entrepreneurial environment.
- Demonstrated experience building strong relationships with people at all levels of an organization and ability to change communication style to fit audience
- Proven experience in brand management.
- Hands-on experience in web based marketing and e-commerce.
- Ability to both see the big picture and execute the details.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
