Raised Eyebrow Web Studio, based in Vancouver BC, creates beautiful, accessible, and user-friendly websites for nonprofits and small businesses. They are seeking an experienced PHP/Drupal Developer. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience working on smaller teams, as Raised Eyebrow is currently a 4 person studio.
Responsibilities
You will work closely with our Front-End Developer to produce robust, beautifully-coded websites (mostly Drupal-based) for our clients.Your work will include:
- Installing and configuring Drupal (both core and modules) in both stand-alone and multi-site environments;
- Customizing Drupal modules as needed, and potentially creating new open-source modules;
- Custom PHP coding;
- Basic web server administration for our LAMP-based VPS to ensure streamlined and efficient functioning of our multi-site Drupal installation;
- Troubleshooting browser and platform agreement issues;
- Assisting the rest of our team in testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of client websites;
- Producing technical documentation as needed;
- Estimating and managing your time effectively, in order to meet budgets, timelines, and client expectations.
Must Haves
- Able to work in downtown Vancouver;
- Very strong background in dynamic/database-driven development (PHP 4 & 5/MySQL);
- Basic to intermediate experience with Drupal, API, themes and assets;
- Basic to intermediate fluency with DNS management and other aspects of VPS web server administration;
- Comfortable working with Mac OSX;
- Expertise with (X)HTML, CSS and JavaScript;
- Advanced knowledge and implementation of W3C Web Standards;
- Solid knowledge of browser/platform compatibility issues and techniques for front-end development;
- Comfortable with production aspects of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - you're careful and consistent about documenting your work.
Also Very Helpful
- Experience with Subversion and CVS;
- Experience contributing to open source software projects;
- Interest/background in social justice issues and capacity-building in the nonprofit sector.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with any of WordPress, Mambo, Joomla, Plone, and/or Typo3.

About the Position
4-5 days a week salaried position (please let us know your preference when you apply) with benefits package (medical, dental and profit-sharing bonus structure). Salary range for the full-time position starts at $59,000/year, and is commensurate with experience.
