Objective:

As the Vice President, Western Canada this position will be responsible for managing Bullfrog Power’s operations in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The VP, Western Canada, will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with Bullfrog Power’s corporate customers. Creating a strong pipeline of prospective customers, creating imaginative and successful customer acquisition programs, managing multiple partnerships and sales channels and delivering a wide range of communications and customer focused programs will all be crucial to the success of the role. In addition, the role will involve managing the activities of other western sales and marketing staff as they relate to both corporate and residential customers.

The VP, Western Canada will also be responsible for maintaining a strong company presence throughout Western Canada through delivery of presentations at industry events, conferences, trade shows, media exposure and PR.

The position can be based in either Calgary or Vancouver and will report to the Senior Vice President of Operations based in Toronto. This position will work closely with all members of the senior management team.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Develop local and regional strategies for the scalable growth and stability of your target segments
  • Lead all customer acquisition and retention activities in the region
  • Maintain existing partner relationships and seek out new and exciting cross-functional partnership opportunities, including with industry and environmental groups
  • Work closely with the corporate marketing group to ensure all communications align with brand and to implement effective customer acquisition and retention programs
  • Represent the company at various business events and public forums including industry events, conferences, trade shows, before the media
  • Ideally, champion key legislative and regulatory issues to advance public policy associated with renewable energy
  • Establish and implement short-term and long-term divisional goals and objectives, policies and operating procedures
  • Cooperate with the Residential, Corporate and Strategic sales groups and the company’s marketing department

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate a passion for environmental issues, the ability to identify with customers, a team player approach
  • Proven success in a senior Sales or Business Development role, consumer or retail experience is an asset
  • Proven ability to establish strong client relationships at senior levels of the organization
  •  Proven media or PR experience
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge and experience with structuring sales quotas, managing sales pipelines and resulting revenue expectations
  • Experience with government relationships a definite asset
  • Ability to lead, develop and engage employees
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and to work independently
  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills
