The Squamish Workshop, Water from Sea to Sky is a two-day residential workshop to engage Canadian youth in dialogue surrounding current water issues in BC and the Sea to Sky Corridor. This workshop is part of a series of Future of Water Workshops being held by Waterlution - A Water Learning Experience across Canada in 2008. The purpose of the workshop is to develop future leaders in water resource management and engage individuals who are interested to learn about water issues in the province.

The Workshop will focus on human impacts on marine ecosystems, coastal watersheds in an era of climate change. Speakers will address management of watersheds, water governance within the province, municipal water issues and programs, and the BC Ministry of the Environment Living Water Smart program. A field tour around Squamish with a tour of EPCOR's modern wastewater treatment plant , Britannia Mine, south of town will explore water use and environmental impacts in mountain communities. Participants will look at how watersheds in this region are protected yet affected by human impact and consider how various agencies can react to the changing needs of ecosystems and communities.
